2014: Prince of Asturias Award for Technical&Scientific Research 2014
It is a great honour for me to be here with you today.
Let me first offer my deepest thanks to the Prince of Asturias Foundation for having jointly granted me the Prince of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research along with Professor Galen Stucky and Professor Mark Davis. Without doubt, this award also goes to Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and to those researchers who work silently and unceasingly in our country as well as those who must seek career opportunities abroad.
2014: Avelino Corma, Mark E. Davis and Galen D. Stucky
The scientific and technical contributions of these three chemists have opened up very important novel lines of research that are on the frontiers of current knowledge, with direct applications in the reduction of pollutant emissions from vehicles and factories as well as in the processes of refining petroleum and in the chemical industry in general.
2014: Avelino Corma, chemistry for life
2013: Avelino Corma, was conferred with the Honoris Causa by the Delf University of Technology
The official ceremony took place on January 11, 2013, at the university’s Aula Congress Centre and the honorary supervisor was Prof. Freek Kapteijn, Professor at the faculty of Applied Sciences.
